Clarkson Valley, Missouri is a major suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. It is situated on the eastern edge of the city and is one of the oldest suburbs in St. Louis. Clarkson Valley is an important commercial area, which was originally built for farming, but today it is one of the most well-known suburban neighborhoods in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Clarkson Valley was originally a farm and cattle-ranching community. However, its growth as a residential area has been rapid over the past few decades. The St. Clair County Sports Commission is also located here and is responsible for maintaining the local basketball, softball, baseball, football, hockey, soccer, tennis, and golf arenas. The St. Clair County Public Library system is located in this community and features both public and private schools. The St. Clair County Railroad Museum is located here and is dedicated to the train industry in the area. When living in Clarkson you will notice that there are a number of cultural events that take place. In August the Clarkson Valley Arts Festival is held, which is a one-day, street festival that includes live music, crafts, food, and more. The St. Clair County Farmers' Market is also held in the summer and takes place throughout the city. This is an excellent time to shop for locally grown produce, meat, and dairy products. You will also find a large number of farmers' markets throughout the area where you can find local produce, meat, crafts, and much more.
